Rentec Direct, the highest-rated property management software solution, is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2021 Rentec Direct Tech Mastery Scholarship. Jack Belisle of Georgia State University, Luke Fernandez of Central Oregon Community College, Juan Gabriel Gomez-Morales of California State University East Bay and Sonica Gupta of University of Southern California were each awarded a $500 scholarship to help achieve academic success in the technology industry.
“As an internet-based organization, Rentec is directly influenced by changing technology,” said Nathan Miller, President of Rentec Direct. “We want to support the innovative minds of future technology influencers and have found that one of the best ways to do so is to encourage academic achievement through our scholarship program. It was amazing to see so many of this year’s applicants demonstrate insight into technology’s important role in meeting daily needs and solving future challenges.”
The Rentec Direct Tech Mastery Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing an education in computer science, technology or a closely related field. As part of the application process, students were asked to write an essay answering the following question: what are some of the greatest obstacles the technology industry has overcome in the past five years and what major obstacles do you see for the industry in the future? Essays were judged on creativity, humor and content.

Recipients of the 2021 Rentec Direct Tech Mastery Scholarship include:
Jack Belisle, a sophomore at Georgia State University. Jack spends his spare time coding and fixing electronic components, and aspires to be a computer programmer who will help change the technology industry for the better. Luke Fernandez, a sophomore at Central Oregon Community College. Luke is a problem solver interested in computer science who wishes to make a positive impact through his insight and abilities. Luke’s goal is to become a Chief Technical Officer. Juan Gabriel Gomez-Morales, a junior at California State University East Bay. Juan Gabriel found himself drawn to technology after taking a computer science course and hopes to build a career based around coding and programming. Sonica Gupta, who is pursuing her Master’s in Computer Science at University of Southern California. Sonica plans to become a software engineer and is passionate about mitigating data mismanagement through secure software development. Rentec Direct launched the Tech Mastery Scholarship program in 2016. The deadline to apply for the 2022 scholarship is April 15, 2022.
