AUSTIN, Texas (PRWEB) September 16, 2021

Possessing nearly a decade of experience serving as the National Bank Examiner for the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Ryan McInerny has today been announced as joining the Austin-based fintech company RiskScout’s premier leadership team as its new Senior Manager of Compliance.

McInerny joins a stellar dream team comprised of the nation’s top compliance experts, all of whom have been absolutely pivotal in spearheading the development of RiskScout’s state-of-the-art proprietary BSA/AML software from the ground up.

RiskScout’s software was designed by BSA officers and regulators like McInerny and one previous OCC regulator and fintech veteran.

RiskScout’s first-class team of compliance experts are together designing modern compliance solutions that connect the business and utilize key data to help make decisions. It’s powerful for all markets, but especially for underbanked emerging markets that remain mostly untapped.

These markets include Cannabis, Hemp, THC, Private ATMs, Money Service Businesses, Cryptocurrency, and others that are often turned away from most financial institutions.

In his prior role as an examiner at the OCC, McInerny led and participated in complex examinations spanning a variety of activities across different business lines. A former member of the Northeast District Compliance Committee and Commercial Credit Committee, he informed Boston staff and the district of changing trends and risk conditions.

An advocate of continual learning, McInerny is recognized as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Specialist and Financial Risk Manager. He continues to seek out challenges to grow as a level II candidate for the CFA.

In his previous role, McInerny led a team of nearly two dozen bank examiners of multi-billion-dollar banks; improved the bank’s Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) programs by recommending best practice enhancements for beneficial ownership, OFAC monitoring, suspicious activity monitoring and reporting, and oversaw ad-hoc analytics and participated in the trading review for 2021 Dodd Frank annual stress testing by leveraging SQL and Tableau and partnering with the supervision systems and analytics division.

He was also selected to join Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD) to work with agency leadership in managerial roles for projects such as coordinating business lines to develop national risk committee priorities; and evaluated the financial adequacy and strategic viability of financial institutions given the riskiness of balance sheet positions, hedging strategies, capital adequacy, market sentiment, and competitive pressures.

With the country’s leading-edge banking compliance policy experts at the helm of development, RiskScout has become the go-to due diligence platform for facilitating and streamlining risk mitigation for community financial institutions ranging from 50 million to 100 billion in assets, allowing them to efficiently bank and maintain compliance for high-risk and underbanked markets.

The highly-advanced and proprietary fintech platform was pioneered and innovated by Austin-area FinTech guru Justin Fischer and CTO Josh Keys to support the laborious and painstakingly demanding responsibilities of onboarding and ongoing compliance of banking businesses in these cash-intensive markets.
